Notes on orthography
  1. Separate spelling applies between prepositions (and the object markers and ) and the following word. Exceptions are ligatures.
  2. In compound verbs, a hyphen (-) connects the two parts of the word, i.e. after the action verb there is a hyphen: ⲉⲣ-ⲛⲟϥⲣⲓ, ϭⲓ-ⲥⲙⲟⲧ.
  3. A hyphen can follow a verb in status nominalis.
  4. There is a hyphen between the conjugation prefix and the nominal expression: ⲁ-ⲫⲣⲱⲙⲓ ϣⲉ.
  5. There is a hyphen after a circumstantial converter: ⲉ-ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲙ ⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
  6. Greek vocabulary is rendered exactly according to ancient Greek orthography (Koine Greek).
  7. The notes apply only to the example sentences in the following tables. In the verb tables, a hyphen was placed between the prefix and the infinitive for better clarification. So the expression ϯ-ⲣⲓⲙⲓ in the verb table below is orthographically correct ϯⲣⲓⲙⲓ.
